It's Happening....

Barq's Red Cream Soda is a New Orleans' regional product and a favorite of the bride and groom while Hank's is a Philadelphia native that goes great with a roast pork sandwich

Seven plus years in the making, or approximately 1/2 a Chinese Democracy and Detox for you Guns N' Roses or Dr. Dre lovers, and we are taking that next step and tying the knot. We're ecstatic and grateful that you are joining us in Philadelphia for this exciting moment in our lives.

We hope that this blog will answer your questions and concerns regarding directions, parking, where to stay, the best cheesesteak and roast pork sandwich (John's Roast Pork for our money), other details concerning the wedding, and our future plans. While we will try to address questions and concerns via this blog if you have a question or topic that you do not believe is addressed please feel free to call, email, or drop a line in our comments section.

Cheers,

Elizabeth and Zach

Accomodation Recommendations

We have contacted multiple hotels for room blocks but found that online rates were significantly less expensive. Several festivals and conferences are taking place that weekend so we strongly suggest booking soon.

Within ten minutes drive of the wedding we recommend the Hilton Philadelphia City Line Avenue. In addition the hotel provides easy access to Manayunk, an assortment of chain restaurants and I-76 for easy access to downtown Philadelphia. Parking is ten dollars a day.

For guests who prefer to stay downtown there are a variety of options. Guests arriving via Amtrak, NJ Transit/SEPTA, Megabus/Bolt Bus or other buslines will be able to reach the wedding venue via local train and will find center city to be very walker friendly.

We recommend the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton on South Broad Street, the Warwick Hotel by Radisson on South 17th Street and the Hotel Palomar by Kimpton Hotels on South 17th Street. The Doubletree Hotel has been the most economic lodging in center city on recent web searches. The Palomar is a luxury boutique hotel located near Rittenhouse Square. Parking will cost approximately 25 dollars a day.

If you have any questions regarding hotel locations or suggestions, please contact us as we do not want any guest to be inconvenienced.

Train Directions

The Dorey-Stein residence is easily accessible by train using local public transportation. The R5 Paoli-Thorndale line is one the most reliable commuter lines operated by SEPTA (http://www.septa.org/). The bride and groom highly recommend using the train for those guests that live in the city and those staying in hotels downtown.

The train can be accessed downtown from Market East, Suburban Station and 30th Street Station. Most hotels are within the vicinity of Suburban Station which is located at 16th and JFK Boulevard. On Saturday trains leave every 30 minutes and take approximately 15 minutes to reach Narberth. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket counters at all stations. There is a slight surcharge if you wait to pay on board the train.

From the Narbeth Train Station:
1) Walk down the steps from the train platform and walk toward the gas station at the intersection of Haverford and Forrest Avenue.
2) Continue on Forrest Avenue for 2 blocks. The Dorey-Stein residence is located on the right hand side at the corner of Woodbine and Forrest Avenue. Signs will guide you on your 5 minute walk.
